Immediately after David's passing, I began to search for stories of people like him, like me. People who struggle with mental illness and those who have lost loved ones to mental illness/suicide. I found a great resource in the blogs of people sharing their stories. In their stories I feel solidarity, and find understanding and hope.
Since I spend a great majority of my day reflecting on David, I decided to create a blog to share stories of David and my great loss. Through this blog I hope to keep his memory alive, grieve, and also be honest about the hard topics that are everyone's greatest fear. I hope my self-disclosure will allow others to be more honest with themselves and more compassionate toward others. Life is too short to be anything less. Loving you, David J.
