David was born on February 21, 1986. He graduated from W.D. High School in 2004 and from the University of Iowa in 2009. He taught for two years at West Branch High School in Iowa and two years at Colegio Bolivar in Cali, Colombia. David had recently begun to pursue a graduate degree in public policy at the University of Minnesota.
David engaged everyone with his vibrant personality. He loved to make people laugh and brightened every gathering he graced. He embraced challenges and continually strived for excellence. He was fascinated with history and government and enjoyed a spirited debate. His favorite pastimes included playing sports, telling stories, and winning board games. He loved his family and friends deeply, and was adored by all.
